New adventure today. Aka KHARVAS, a milk pudding made of colostrum. What’s colostrum? you ask. It’s the first form of milk when the 🐄 or 🐃 gives birth.
It’s an ubiquitous dessert in Maharashtrian households; made by a super simple process of mixing colostrum with milk, sugar or jaggery, a pinch of grated nutmeg and a dash of crushed cardamom. You can also add few strands of saffron. They generously impart their gorgeous colour to the dish. I didn’t have them, so went ahead without. This mixture is then steamed for about 25 minutes and served cold.
