Eid Milad-un-Nabi Mubarak

Eid Mubarak to all our dear Muslim friends…
Yesterday was Eid Milad-un-Nabi, also the night of Sharad Poornima. What a beautiful coincidence!
To be honest, I had never heard of this Eid until yesterday. Until I witnessed this… hundreds and hundreds of people on trucks, in beautifully decorated autos, on bikes, pedestrians waving the Islamic flags along with our Tricolour. Men wearing gorgeous traditional attire which I’ve mostly seen in movies and magazines, women so beautiful, their spotless complexion would make the moon go green with envy, the kids with their little faces tattooed. The festive fervour wafted up the night sky with melodies ringing praises of Allah played on loudspeakers and chants of Allah hu Akbar in unison. People mounted the tall handsome horses who dazzled in their own embellishments and trotted along oblivious to the vehicles around. I’ve never witnessed this magnitude of a celebration even during Ramzan Eid.
Why wouldn’t it be! It was the birthday of Prophet Muhammad…the preacher of kindness, compassion among so many other things.
Eid Mubarak once again! May peace and prosperity, love and kindness, faith and simplicity reign in your life always…
